Danjela Celaj

Project Manager

Danjela Celaj is a project manager with IISD’s Economic Law and Policy program. She brings expertise in developing and executing project work plans and budgets and is skilled at continuous project monitoring, procurement coordination, and financial resource management.

Prior to joining IISD, Danjela worked on gender-related issues and anti-trafficking and child protection projects in Albania and the Western Balkans. She has successfully led awareness campaigns, engaged with international organizations, and managed the biggest child protection coalition in Albania. Her most recent roles have included working at the United Nations Women's Organization and the United Nations Organization for Migration.

She holds a master’s degree in gender studies from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and a bachelor’s degree in English as a foreign language from Aleksander Xhuvani University, Elbasan, Albania.

Danjela is based in Toronto and speaks Albanian, English, and Italian.
